2017 CHAMPIONSHIPS – SOUTH WEST ROCKS COUNTRY CLUB MENS BOWLING CLUB
The 2017 CHAMPIONSHIPS CALENDAR is in the Calendar Section of the website.
Championships are held throughout the year outside the Pennant Season where possible. Most Championships matches have play by dates on Saturday and Sundays which allows members the flexibility to play some matches mid-week as required.
2016 FOURS CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2016 Fours was played between the teams of C. Young (M. Howard, I. Simpson and G. Smith) and D. Pagett (J. Flanagan, B. Ellam and G. Heggie) with C. Young winning 27-12.
2016 MAJOR SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP.
Gary Lackenby was the defending champion but was unable to play. Ian Robbins, Greg Pearce and Mark Wilcher were in excellent form and the final between Ian and Mark was everything the spectators could have hoped for. Mark prevailed in an exciting finish.

2016 MAJOR PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2015 Major Pairs final was played between R. Boulter and M. Howard against the “giant killers”, K. Tomsett and A. Lloyd. Ray and Michael went on to win and then take out the District Champion of Champions Pairs before losing the Zone Final.

2016 MINOR SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP.
The event was keenly contested with many close and exciting matches. In a ever changing final Ron Tumpey prevailed over a continually developing Phil Barnett.

2016 TRIPLES CHAMPIONSHIP.
The defending champions were Flanagan, Robbins and Howard but Robbins was unavailable in 2016. He was succesfully replaced by G. Heggie who proved his value in the team allowing the successful defence of the title.
